Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (hereinafter referred to as the “Terms”) set forth the conditions for using the smartphone application “Study Journal” (hereinafter referred to as the “App”) provided by the operator (hereinafter referred to as the “Operator”). All users (hereinafter referred to as “Users”) shall use the App in accordance with these Terms.
Article 1 (Applicability)
- These Terms shall apply to all relationships between the User and the Operator regarding the use of the App.
- By downloading, installing, or using the App, the User is deemed to have agreed to these Terms.
Article 2 (Changes, Suspension, and Termination of Service)
- The Operator may change, add, or discontinue any content of the App (including, but not limited to, the types of features included in paid content, their details, prices, presence of advertisements, etc.) without prior notice to the User.
- The Operator may suspend or interrupt the provision of all or part of the App without prior notice to the User if any of the following events are determined to have occurred:
- When performing maintenance, inspection, or updates of systems related to the App.
- When the provision of the App becomes difficult due to force majeure, such as fire, power failure, natural disasters, or communication line accidents.
- In other cases where the Operator deems it difficult to provide the App.
- The Operator shall not be liable for any disadvantage or damage suffered by the User or any third party due to the change, suspension, or interruption of the App.
Article 3 (Usage Environment and Minimum OS Requirements)
- The device, OS, communication methods, etc., necessary to use the App shall be prepared at the User’s expense and responsibility.
- The Operator may, at its discretion, change the recommended environment (minimum OS version, etc.) for the App to work, for the purpose of technical progress or security enhancement.
- The Operator shall not be held responsible even if all or part of the App becomes restricted due to OS updates or changes in the recommended environment.
Article 4 (Paid Content and Payment)
- Users may use additional features by purchasing subscriptions (monthly/annually) or one-time purchase paid content provided within the App. Provision of paid content may be limited to specific platforms (such as iOS).
- Payment for paid content shall be processed through the payment system provided by platform providers such as Apple Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “Apple”). Any disputes regarding payments shall be resolved between the User and the payment service provider, and the Operator assumes no responsibility.
- Except as provided by law, no refunds will be given for any reason once payment has been made. Subscription cancellation procedures shall be performed by the User through each platform (such as iOS settings).
Article 5 (Advertisements and Analytics)
- The App may include advertising services provided by third parties (Google AdMob), and advertisements may be displayed within the App.
- The App uses Firebase to collect anonymous data for the purpose of improving services and understanding usage patterns. This data is used for statistical purposes only and does not identify individuals.
Article 6 (Disclaimer)
- The Operator does not guarantee, expressly or impliedly, that the App is free from de facto or legal defects (including defects related to safety, reliability, accuracy, completeness, effectiveness, fitness for a particular purpose, security, etc., as well as errors, bugs, or infringement of rights).
- The Operator shall not be liable for any damages incurred by the User arising from the App, except in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence by the Operator.
- The User is responsible for the storage and management of data entered into the App. The Operator will not provide any compensation for the loss of data due to app deletion, device failure, or loss.
Article 7 (Changes to the Terms)
The Operator may change these Terms at any time without notice to the User if the Operator deems it necessary. The revised Terms shall become effective from the time they are posted within the App or at a location designated by the Operator.
Article 8 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
- These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
- In the event of a dispute regarding the App, the court having jurisdiction over the location of the Operator shall have exclusive agreed jurisdiction.
